Yellow Line's first year: 3.8 crore journeys and a new life for Electronic City
Ridership has grown to about 1.5 lakh a day since the RV Road–Bommasandra line opened in August 2025. What it's done for E-City's housing market.
The Yellow Line — Namma Metro's 19.15 km corridor from RV Road to Bommasandra along Hosur Road — carried more than 3.8 crore passenger journeys in its first full year. Average daily ridership grew from about 81,365 in the first month (August 2025) to around 1.5 lakh a day by July 2026.
The line opened with a small fleet and long gaps between trains — early reports cited 25-minute frequencies — and service has improved as more three-car trains were commissioned. It links Electronic City, Huskur Road and Bommasandra to BTM Layout, Silk Board and RV Road, where it meets the Green Line.
Electronic City already had the highest rental yield among our tracked markets; metro access strengthens the rental case for homes within walking distance of Electronic City, Konappana Agrahara and Huskur Road stations. Still check water — many E-City projects rely on borewells and tankers.
